A Diversified Program 🌎
The Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS) is one of the most diverse two-week summer academic programs in the world. Hosting more than 2,000 students from over 150 countries and all 50 states, YYGS provides more than $3 million in need-based financial aid to both domestic and international students.
The experience of living and learning alongside peers from around the world allows students to broaden their horizons and perspectives. They have the chance to learn about countries and cultures they may never have encountered otherwise.
An Open and Collaborative Learning Approach 🤝
YYGS emphasizes an open, exploratory, and collaborative approach to learning. Participants have the opportunity to experience a variety of academic settings, from large conferences to small seminars, as well as the spontaneous learning that occurs outside of the classroom, in conversations with one another. The program exposes participants to innovative topics while facilitating student-to-student discussions shaped by international perspectives. Students have the opportunity to choose from STEM, social sciences, humanities, or interdisciplinary majors.

Each session of the program addresses specific areas:
Politics, Law and Economics: Study of various economic theories, government values and practices, and legal frameworks in historical and comparative perspectives.
Literature, Philosophy and Culture: Analyzing culturally significant works, challenging ideas, and exploring creative ways to use the arts to better understand and influence communities.
Solutions to Global Challenges: Discover innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to solving the greatest challenges facing the global community in the 21st century.
Innovations in Science and Technology: Exploration of diverse topics in biological, physical and applied sciences by applying scientific principles to real-world problems.
Needs-Based Financing Opportunities 💸
YYGS offers need-based financial aid for all students, whether domestic or international, covering up to the full cost of program tuition. Students are also encouraged to coordinate funding for their transportation needs.
