An Exceptional Opportunity for Young Students 💎
The U.S.-based TechGirls program offers young female students from around the world an exceptional opportunity to immerse themselves in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Designed to inspire and empower, this summer program aims to encourage young female students ages 15 to 17 to pursue higher education and careers in these fields by providing them with hands-on, immersive training with U.S. technologists.
The Heart of the Program: The Technology Camp 👩💻
The focus of the TechGirls program is a technology camp lasting approximately ten days, which takes place on the campus of a US university. During this camp, participants have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies in depth and gain a deep understanding of the different educational and career paths in STEM fields. This camp offers hands-on, interactive and engaging learning.
A Complete Experience 🔬
In addition to the tech camp, participants have the opportunity to participate in a variety of complementary activities. They visit technology companies, attend leadership workshops, have job shadowing experiences, get involved in community service projects, and participate in cultural and recreational events. In addition, they have the opportunity to live with American families for a complete cultural immersion.
Global Impact: Inspire and Encourage 🌍
Since 2012, TechGirls has had a significant impact on 528 adolescent girls aged 15 to 17. Initially focused on countries in the Middle East and North Africa, the program has expanded to include Central Asia and other regions of the world. TechGirls have the opportunity to put the skills they have learned into practice by creating and implementing projects in their schools and communities. This approach creates a multiplier effect by promoting the sharing of knowledge and skills.
Eligibility Conditions 🤝
To participate, young students must be between the ages of 15 and 17 at the start of the exchange. They must demonstrate an interest in STEM fields and intend to pursue higher education or a career in technology. Strong English skills and at least one semester of high school remaining after the program are also required.
