Organized by QatarDebate, this prestigious championship brings together students from all over the world to compete in verbal jousts in Arabic on crucial and contemporary issues. This competition offers much more than a chance to debate, it also creates a unique opportunity for networking, exchanging experiences and building communication bridges based on dialogue and logic.
The International Arabic School Debating Championship takes place in Qatar, where you will have the opportunity to represent your country and school in a competitive and intellectually stimulating environment. The competition brings together teams from over 40 different countries, making it a world-class event.
This championship is organized annually by QatarDebate, becoming a global forum to discuss many pressing universal issues among Arab and non-Arab youth. The debaters who participate in it contribute to expanding the art of debate beyond the Arab region, creating a global impact.
What makes this championship particularly special is that it is held in two stages. The first stage is held via the ZOOM platform and brings together all participating teams. The second stage is held in Doha with the participation of 16 qualified teams in both categories: non-Arabic speakers and the open category.
In this competition, debaters will discuss five questions carefully selected to match the target age group. Two questions have already been announced: “Should governments withhold information that could harm market confidence in times of economic crisis?” and “Remorse for glorifying authoritarian presidents in successful regimes.”
The other three topics will be announced 20 minutes before the start of the debate. To ensure fairness and quality of the debates, a committee of 24 international referees was selected after a rigorous testing and evaluation process from over 100 participants, as well as trainers and ambassadors from the center and members of the Elite Academy.
